Pets and More Pets ? Horses And Wives - Kirbybarrick3's blog

For an extended period of time, the world has been given to believe opposites attract, like the north poles of magnet s are drown to the south poles. Typical knowledge seems to have it that two people who are psychologically alike will not be able to sustain their relationship. I leave it to you to settle on the reliability or otherwise of these beliefs. What I know from personal experience is that a lot men who couldn?t care less about horses land up in serious relationships with women who are horse fans.

I have this to assert to all men who?ve no definite feelings for horses, but find themselves strongly drawn to horse-loving women: be ready to accept second place. In this sort of a situation, you must be capable of enormous patience, unwavering love and deep understanding. If you are the kind of man who cannot accept being in second place, I suggest that you terminate the relationship at the earliest opportunity, while you can still do so without rancour.

Think of some possible eventualities. You?ve got everything prepared for a weekend fall trip with your better half more than 2 months before. As you?re just about to finishing stuffing your car, your partner gets info about fresh hay being cut and sold in some local field. She has been searching for fresh hay, and she has no intention of losing this excellent opportunity. She knows there is a lot of wisdom in storing hay in anticipation of winter. You let her know hay can wait but your weekend trip can?t. She begs to differ, and before you realise you are at the hay field struggling with the loading of bales of hay on to your trailer. Your scheduled vacation has gone on holiday.

I?ve seen more men than I can remember huff and puff and threaten to blow their other halves down if they ?the wives? so much as dared to push them ?the husbands? around, especially for the sake of some darned horse. I?ve also seen those same men eat crow, and lots of it without any seasoning. It looks to be a universal characteristic of horse-loving women that they are sugar and spice and everything that is nice externally, but solid as teak, unbending on the inside, with no give at all if it?s a question of their beloved horses. I have seen all of these he-men learn the hard way that there is just no horsing around when talking of the horse. It is far wiser to live to exercise prudence over courage.

Husbands who are second choices to horses are well aware that their better halves are ever agreeable to committing time to their horses, at the price of any other engagement. This is much more so with wives and horses who are into shows and events. The experienced better half leaves her man behind when she is away at a show, because she knows he?ll hit back at her by griping the entire day about boredom. It?s far better to allow him spend a while watching television or drinking or fishing with his friends.

It is a sort of you scratch my back, I?ll scratch yours quid pro quo.

The queerest thing is that in spite of all its upheavals, a marriage between a partner disinterested by horses and a better half devoted to them sometimes works out reasonably well. It is potentially because the partner would rather luck out to a pony than to another man.

Oil & Gas - Ecuador - Petroamazonas targets 92 wells through US$1.25bn 2012 investment

Ecuadorian state E&P company Petroamazonas will drill up to 92 wells this year across its acreage in the Andean nation as part of its US$1.25bn 2012 investment plan, the company's managing director Oswaldo Madrid told BNamericas.

"Well numbers have been increasing on a year-by-year basis. We are in the process of drilling 92 wells this year across the five blocks that we currently operate," Madrid said on the sidelines of the 6th BNamericas Andean Energy Summit in Bogot?.

The firm's drilling campaign will consist of both development and exploration wells, Madrid said, with the firm aiming to achieve a reserve base of 1.3Bboe by year-end.

The company also intends to take production figures beyond present levels of 155,000b/d through both new successes and the absorption of producing licenses currently held by sister company Petroecuador.

"The merger will consist of the consolidation of Petroecuador's upstream activities under Petoramazonas. From this point onwards, we will be in sole control of all exploration and production activities in the country. By the end of this year we will be producing over 320,000b/d," Madrid said.

Madrid also confirmed that the firm will participate in the upcoming round for new licenses planned by Ecuadorian authorities.

"As a state company we have priority over certain blocks to be offered in the round and can also form strategic partnerships with firms from outside the country looking to participate in this round for exploration and production licenses. Currently we are in discussions with some firms, though nothing concrete has so far been proposed."

The 21 blocks are located in provinces Morona Santiago, Pastaza and Napo and contain an estimated resource potential of 690Mb oil in place. Five blocks have 2D seismic data and only one block has wells.

Over 50's Guide ? How does corporate finance affect retiree investors

Posted on July 13, 2012 by admin

Restrictive pensions are something that retirees or people looking to retire in the future are slowly moving away from. If you do not want to be restricted to a set amount of money each month or each year of your retirement then you might consider doing something a little less traditional and investing your money. If you know someone with a good corporate finance account knowledge then they should be able to point you in the right direction, however, if you don?t then consider talking to a corporate finance advisor.

A good pension should be a staple part of any retirees income however if you are looking for something a little different to bring you some additional income then consider a number of other options. While nobody is going to agree on the same path for their pension everybody should be saving as much money as possible for the future and there are a number of ways to increase your initial investment.

Initially pension schemes do look quite attractive and with a tax relief on contributions a pension is one of just a few ways in which a saver can shelter income from tax. Also, a pension can guarantee a level of income that can be index-linked and can also be left to your spouse should you pass away unexpectedly. SIPP (self invested personal pensions) mean investors are no longer restricted to a handful of pensions with poorly performing insurance-based funds and these SIPPs can bring down the price of the entire pensions markets.

With Alistair Darling announcing in 2010 that high earners would receive a reduced tax relief this meant a decrease in the long term pension size for thousands of savers. This means that is the government can cut tax relief for one class of pension savers it can cut it for another. The government is constantly looking for new ways to save money and potentially in the future they will look at pension savings again but for the lower earners too.
If you are looking for an option other than a pension then consider an ISA. You can get a reasonable tax free amount per year, in excess of ?6,000 now, and you can make payments and pay no tax on the benefits and interest. This means that you can save a nice lump sum each year, get an increase of tax on it each year, and save for the future. This makes an ISA ideal for those who feel that they will be able to save a lump sum in the future that would usually be liable for income tax, you can continue to save each year and generally the tax breaks has increased each year for the past several.

If you are looking for a guaranteed steady income then consider a pension and try to save the maximum that you can, however, if you are looking for a tax free lump sum for your future without the need for a pension then look at saving your money, or some of it, each year in an ISA.
