If you would like to be successful, it will be necessary for you to learn all that you can about multi-level marketing. The advice in the following article is designed to help you develop a network marketing plan that will effectively reach your target market.

Don?t hand any money over to a multi-level marketing company until you research the Better Business Bureau?s records of the company. Even though there are an abundant amount of real companies that exist, many scams are also out there. You must be confident in an opportunity before you should invest in it. If you want to make sure any potential network is credible, then check their Better Business Burea rating first.

Keep face-to-face meetings with your network leads brief; never spend more than three-quarters of an hour with them. This gives off the impression to potential customers that you are a busy and successful businessperson.

TIP! Make use of video marketing to get more potential customers to your distributor website. Having a video means you can put out a content-rich campaign, and it doesn?t cost you any more money than to host the video.

You should apply social networking as a part of your particular affiliate marketing strategy. Create separate groups for different product niches, and focus on enhancing customer relationships. Create a page for each affiliate program you?re a part of on the various social networking websites.

In multilevel marketing, you are at constant competition with others to sign as many people as possible. To be sure you do not do this, think instead of how to work to help others and yourself.

TIP! Many people have the mistaken notion that quantity trumps quality when it comes to network marketing. In reality, quality always wins.

You might be surprised at the number of people who are more than happy to help you, by sharing what they have experienced in the world of MLM, so pay attention. One great avenue for doing this is listening to network marketing podcasts. Listen to different ones to find the best one available.

You can try designing your site in a how-to format. Giving step-by-step how-tos is a proven way to increase the traffic to your site, and increases the amount of time visitors will spend on your site. These both increase your chance of getting new members and increasing your ad revenue.

Connect with others online in forums or chat rooms so that you can take advantage of their expertise and avoid making the same mistakes they made. Discussion boards often offer a healthy mix of experienced network marketers and amateurs who are in a position similar to your own. Forums are great places to make a business connection, so always have a major online presence.

TIP! A good customer database is crucial to the success of any network marketing campaign. Regardless of whether you buy the list or use comments from your site, you should have a very large list if you want to grow your profits.

A great tip for successful MLM is to join online forums and participate. These forums are perfect for connecting with others, and picking up useful advice. Search for a forum which matches the business you?re in or is just generally about MLM, and spend some time there daily learning all you can.

Make sure meetings are less than an hour. You don?t want potential partners to worry about the time investment the business requires.

Mimic successful characteristics that you see in others when you embark on your network marketing career. This helps you to act and think in the same ways these distributors run their business, which helps you to achieve greater success.

TIP! Watch your body language when speaking to a lead; nodding is good, and shaking your head is negative. Ensure that your body language is positive.

You should always make time for friends and family so that you don?t stress out, and to make sure that you do not damage your personal relationships. Starting up a business can mean long hours at the office, but they tend to ease up once you get a firm handle on things.

If you try to take shortcuts with network marketing, you could wind up making a mistake that will really cost you. Cutting corners might seem to save you time or money now, but the truth is that taking the time to work hard is the only way you will achieve long-term success. When quality exists, results will come.

As previously stated, success in network marketing depends on knowledge and the use of effective strategies and techniques. If you know how to do multi-level marketing like a pro, then your business will take off. If you follow the guidelines that you have just read, you can spread the message effectively, and in only a matter of time your business will be booming.

TIP! Before you commit to a network marketing opportunity, make sure you know how you will be paid for your efforts. Look for possibilities of multiple income or residual income with higher overall returns.

A New Real Estate Company, with a Twist, Opens its Doors

BY Baristanet Staff ?|? Friday, Nov 23, 2012 11:00am ?|? COMMENTS (5)

Do you know someone who?s looking to buy a home in Essex County? A new non-traditional real estate company has opened its doors in Montclair to interested buyers.

Habitat is different from traditional real estate agencies in that it only represents home buyers?never sellers?eliminating the conflict of interest that can occur when buying a home.

?Most buyers don?t realize how important it is to have proper representation in a real estate transation.? said Clayton Borchard, Broker of Record at Habitat. ?Unless the buyer signs a buyer?s agreement with an agency, the fiduciary responsibility of those showing available home will always be to the seller. Their main objective is to get the house sold. At Habitat, our main objective is to get the buyer into the house that is right for them.?

In most cases, Habitat also rebates their commission directly to clients at closing. In turn, the company charges its clients a flat fee to handle the transaction. For more on how it works, click here. You can estimate your own potential rebate with their cash back calculator on their home page.

?Habitat?s cash rebates can be significant,? said Gerald DeNicola, a Habitat agent, Montclair resident, and one of the company?s founding partners. ?On a $500,000 sales price, Habitat clients could receive up to $8,000 back at closing. What could be better than getting some cash in your pocket after making such a significant purchase??

Habitat represents buyers looking for homes in Montclair, Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, Clifton, Cedar Grove, Essex Fells, Nutley and Verona. The agency?s offices are located at Academy Square, 33 Plymouth Street, Suite 206. For more on the company, log on to their website or their Facebook page.

Business confidence rises unexpectedly in Germany

BERLIN (AP) ? German business confidence rose unexpectedly in November after six straight declines, a closely-watched survey showed Friday, raising hopes that Europe's largest economy can continue to weather the financial crisis.

Munich's Ifo institute said its key business climate figure rose to 101.4 points in November from 100 in October. Economists had been predicting a modest drop to 99.5. The increase in the headline index came on the back of increases in the measures about the present and the future.

"The latest positive news from business surveys clearly increased the odds for a real turnaround at the change of the year," said UniCredit economist Alexander Koch.

However, he cautioned that "the fog of uncertainty remains unusually dense and downside risks are high."

Germany's economy, Europe's biggest, has recovered strongly from its deep recession in 2008-09 despite the huge debt problems on its doorstep. However, there have been recent signs that its export-driven economy is beginning to slow amid weakening demand from other countries from within the European Union, though exports outside the bloc have remained strong.

Earlier this month, the German government's panel of independent economic advisers forecast that the economy will avoid falling back into recession and will instead grow by 0.8 percent this year and next.

"Even if domestic demand should lose some steam due to a weaker labor market, the risk for the economy of falling off the cliff looks very limited," ING economist Carsten Brzeski said. "The German economy might have lost its invulnerability but today's numbers indicate that the economy should not join the race to the bottom most other eurozone countries are currently in. "

Magnesium oxide: From Earth to super-Earth

ScienceDaily (Nov. 22, 2012) ? The mantles of Earth and other rocky planets are rich in magnesium and oxygen. Due to its simplicity, the mineral magnesium oxide is a good model for studying the nature of planetary interiors. New work from a team led by Carnegie's Stewart McWilliams studied how magnesium oxide behaves under the extreme conditions deep within planets and found evidence that alters our understanding of planetary evolution.

The research is published Nov. 22 by Science Express.

Magnesium oxide is particularly resistant to changes when under intense pressures and temperatures. Theoretical predictions claim that it has just three unique states with different structures and properties present under planetary conditions: solid under ambient conditions (such as on Earth's surface), liquid at high temperatures, and another structure of the solid at high pressure. The latter structure has never been observed in nature or in experiments.

McWilliams and his team observed magnesium oxide between pressures of about 3 million times normal atmospheric pressure (0.3 terapascals) to 14 million times atmospheric pressure (1.4 terapascals) and at temperatures reaching as high as 90,000 degrees Fahrenheit (50,000 Kelvin), conditions that range from those at the center of our Earth to those of large exo-planet super-Earths. Their observations indicate substantial changes in molecular bonding as the magnesium oxide responds to these various conditions, including a transformation to a new high-pressure solid phase.

In fact, when melting, there are signs that magnesium oxide changes from an electrically insulating material like quartz (meaning that electrons do not flow easily) to a metal similar to iron (meaning that electrons do flow easily through the material).

Drawing from these and other recent observations, the team concluded that while magnesium oxide is solid and non-conductive under conditions found on Earth in the present day, the early Earth's magma ocean might have been able to generate a magnetic field. Likewise, the metallic, liquid phase of magnesium oxide can exist today in the deep mantles of super-Earth planets, as can the newly observed solid phase.

"Our findings blur the line between traditional definitions of mantle and core material and provide a path for understanding how young or hot planets can generate and sustain magnetic fields," McWilliams said.

"This pioneering study takes advantage of new laser techniques to explore the nature of the materials that comprise the wide array of planets being discovered outside of our Solar System," said Russell Hemley, director of Carnegie's Geophysical Laboratory. "These methods allow investigations of the behavior of these materials at pressures and temperatures never before explored experimentally."

Oil rises in Asia as China manufacturing improves

BANGKOK (AP) ? The price of oil rose Thursday after preliminary data showed China's manufacturing activity expanded for the first time in 13 months, a positive sign for the global economy.

Benchmark crude for January delivery was up 17 cents to $87.55 per barrel at midday Bangkok time in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract rose 63 cents to finish at $87.38 a barrel on Wednesday.

Oil prices were responding to the release of HSBC Corp.'s monthly Purchasing Managers' Index for November, which showed a reading of 50.4 on a 100-point scale on which numbers over 50 indicate expansion.

That was a moderate improvement from October's 49.5 and boosted hopes that the world's No. 2 economy was finally emerging from the deep slump it has been mired in since the 2008 financial crisis.

"I think that number encouraged the traders to bet on rising oil prices," said Ken Hasegawa, energy analyst at Newedge brokerage in Tokyo.

Brent crude, used to price international varieties of oil, rose 3 cents to $110.89 a barrel in London.

In other energy futures trading in New York:

? Heating oil gained 3.3 cents to $3.081 a gallon.

? Wholesale gasoline rose 0.4 cent to $2.724 a gallon.

? Natural gas fell 6.7 cents to $3.899 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Electing a president: Five insights from Obama campaign manager Jim Messina

Conventional wisdom held that Team Obama would not be able to generate the turnout numbers in 2012 that it had in 2008. What campaign manager Jim Messina did to reelect the president.

By Linda Feldmann,?Staff writer / November 20, 2012

Depending on one?s politics, Jim Messina is either a conquering hero or a figure of intense envy.

Either way, the manager of President Obama?s successful reelection campaign was the man of the hour in Washington Tuesday, when he sat down for a chat with Politico?s Mike Allen before a standing-room-only crowd.

Mr. Messina?s story begins with the president asking him to build a grassroots-oriented campaign. By doing that, Messina said, ?that?s how we got to turnout numbers that a whole bunch of people spent 18 months telling me we couldn?t get to.?

Specifically, Republicans and other political observers insisted the Obama campaign would not be able to turn out minorities, women, and young voters in numbers that matched the 2008 campaign.

Amid high unemployment and sluggish economic growth, the enthusiasm just wasn?t there, Team Obama kept hearing. Many public polls seemed to bear that out. But the result proved otherwise.

?We built the biggest grassroots campaign in modern American political history,? Messina said.

So how did that work, exactly? Here are five takeaways from Messina?s remarks:

1. Voters have to be wooed. In other words, you can?t just build it (a campaign) and assume they (voters) will come. Messina says it starts with the candidate: ?We won this election because of Barack Obama.?

The next step is to run a ?sustained operation,? with lots of voter contact. In the 2010 midterms, Democrats thought they could put Obama?s picture on a piece of literature and his supporters would ?magically? turn out for them, Messina said.

?It doesn?t work like that,? he said. There needs to be ?an ongoing conversation about why they should support the president, about why they should get out and vote.?

In September 2011, the Obama campaign launched Operation Vote, which focused on eight target groups: women, blacks, seniors, Hispanics, Asian-Americans, Jews, gays, and young voters.?With African-Americans, for example, there was particular outreach at beauty parlors, barber shops, black-owned businesses, and historically black colleges.

2. Door-knocking will only grow in importance. A flood of money from outside groups ? a result of the 2010 Supreme Court ruling Citizens United ? created a ?huge cacaphony of television? in the final months of the campaign, making it harder for any one message to stand out.

Targeted door-knocking ? only going to doors where you know the voter is persuadable or perhaps just needs a nudge to hand in their absentee ballot ? became a way to rise above the din.

?Door-knocking is going to be even more important in the future,? says Messina.
