PITTSBURGH (AP) - Justin Verlander "didn't feel particularly great" Sunday.
So what did he do on a ho-hum day?
He threw a five-hitter, helping the Detroit Tigers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-2.
"We had the horse going," said Detroit manager Jim Leyland, "and he pitched like the horse is supposed to pitch."
Quintin Berry hit a two-run shot for his first major league home run. He also scored the go-ahead run on Delmon Young's single in the eighth, an inning after Garrett Jones tied it with a two-run homer.
"Stupid pitch," Verlander said. "Bad location. All of the above."
Five weeks after he took a no-hitter into the ninth against the Pirates in Detroit on May 18, that was the only mistake Verlander (8-4) would make.
He had allowed only two infield hits through six innings Sunday before Pedro Alvarez singled with one out in the seventh. Jones followed by launching a 1-1 changeup into a sliver of seating in right-center.
Verlander retired all six Pirates he faced to close out the game after the Tigers retook the lead. Verlander struck out three in the final two innings to give him seven in the game.
Andrew McCutchen entered on a 15-for-28 tear but capped an 0-for-4 day against Verlander by flying out to begin the ninth. Casey McGehee and Alvarez struck out to end the game.
"That was not an easy order to go through in the ninth inning, and he took charge of that ninth inning pretty good," Leyland said.
"That's why he's, in my opinion, the best pitcher in baseball," Leyland said.
Verlander needed 117 pitches to toss his fourth complete game of the season and 18th of his career. He has won three consecutive starts.
"I actually didn't feel particularly great," Verlander said. "But at least my location was there. I was able to locate pretty well and got a lot of weak contact because of that. I didn't have the flashy fastball or anything, but I was able to pitch and go nine innings."
Detroit avoided a sweep, winning for only the second time in five games.
Berry's homer off of Kevin Correia four pitches into the game was his first in 96 career big league at-bats. Austin Jackson singled ahead of Berry.
"I willed that thing out," Berry said. "Ever since it went up in the air, I pushed it out with everything I had."
Pittsburgh remained one game behind the Cincinnati Reds, who lost to Minnesota, in the NL Central.
The Tigers matched their run total for the first two games of the series combined before many in the crowd of 35,179 had even settled into their seats. The series drew 111,878 to PNC Park, the fifth-most for a three-game series at the 12-year-old ballpark.
Pittsburgh had won 16 of its past 20 at home and had already clinched its fifth consecutive series victory at PNC Park with consecutive 4-1 wins Friday and Saturday.
A sweep appeared out of the question once Verlander was handed a two-run lead. But Jones tied it with his ninth homer and second in four games.
"I was geared up to hit the fastball, but he hung a changeup and I was able to recognize it, stay through it and get the good part of the bat on it," Jones said.
The tie lasted only a half-inning. Berry walked with one out and stole second. Chris Resop (0-3) intentionally walked Prince Fielder to face Young, who was 1 for 9 in the series until singling in his previous at-bat.
He singled to right to score Berry.
After allowing the home run two batters into the game, Correia retire 12 of the next 15 and did not allow another runner to advance past second.
"I pitched pretty good after (Berry's homer)," Correia said, "but it's tough to spot a guy like Verlander two runs. I knew after that that's all I could give up if I was going to keep us in the game."
Counting 5 1-3 shutout innings in a win against Minnesota Tuesday, Correia has put together two consecutive strong outings.
Correia was thought to be a candidate to be the odd man out of the rotation when Jeff Karstens was activated from the disabled list this week, but after the game the Pirates announced that Karstens would start Monday in Philadelphia.
Brad Lincoln is returning to the bullpen. The rest of the Pittsburgh rotation is being pushed back a day. A corresponding roster move will be made Monday.
NOTES: Pirates manager Clint Hurdle was ejected by home plate umpire Marty Foster for arguing a checked-swing call on McGehee. ... Pittsburgh claimed INF/OF Drew Sutton off waivers from Tampa Bay. He will report to the team later in the week. The Pirates also recalled RHP Bryan Morris before the game and optioned INF Jordy Mercer to Triple-A. ... The Tigers continue their road trip with three games in Texas. RHP Rick Porcello (4-5, 4.95) will start Monday. After Sunday's game, the team announced LHP Drew Smyly will come off the disabled list to start Tuesday. RHP Jacob Turner was optioned to Triple-A Toledo.

Harare, Jun 23: Another amazing performance by Bangladesh stunned South Africa by three wickets, as they registered their second win to stay afloat in the series which also features Zimbabwe.?
After a shocking defeat to Zimbabwe on Tuesday, South Africa witnessed yet another loss against Bangladesh, which added salt on the existing wound.
South Africa's Justin Ontong's 26-ball 41 helped the touring side to post 129/7 off 20 overs, after electing to bat first in the fifth T20 tri-series. Apart from the Ontong, none of the players were able to score runs as they struggled against spinners, as they are vulnerable to spinners.
The track which remained slow throughout the match, assisted spin bowling as Elias Sunny, Abdur Razzak, Mohammad Mahmuddullah and Nasir Hossain attacked the Proteas, and restricted them to a paltry 129/7.
Conditions similar to sub-continent, Mohammad Ashraful played with ease as he added 41 crucial runs with Mushfiqur Rahim for the third wicket and guide Bangladesh to a three wicket win with a ball to spare.
Ashraful's knock was crucial as wickets tumbled on the other end. He lived up to the expectations and played a magnificent role in winning the match for Bangladesh to stun South Africa and stay alive in the series as they have registered two wins now.
Mahmuddullah, who scored 28 off 27 balls alongwith Ziaur Rahman as he scored a 26-ball 27 towards the end to ensure that they booked a berth in the final of the tri-series. Mahmuddullah was awarded the man of the match for his all-round performance as he claimed the wicket of Colin Ingram and also scored 28 valuable runs.
South Africa on the other hand, did not perform well as they conceded eight wide and two no-balls while defending a paltry 129/7, which ensured that the Proteas need to win their last league match against Zimbabwe in order to stay alive in the tournament.
Now, with another match to go in the league stages, South Africa find themselves in a must-win situation to stay afloat in the series, when they take on Zimbabwe on Saturday.

It?s exciting to book a trip to a winter resort with your family or friends! You can?t wait to strap on a pair of skis and fly down the slopes all day. But then, the day before you?re set to leave for your fabulous adventure, disaster strikes: you fall and break your ankle. While it?s not a severe enough injury to cancel your entire family?s trip, you?ll be forbidden from any winter sports whatsoever, and confined to the lodge. What can you do to continue enjoying your vacation?
Apres-Ski
If you?re of legal age, then you?re in luck. Ski resorts have bars for a reason: it?s a long-standing tradition going all the way back to the French Alps for riders to get together for drinks after a day on the slopes. You get to skip the riding part and go straight to the cocktails?so make friends with the bartender, and be sure to imbibe responsibly.
Read by the Fire
It?s an iconic image of ski resorts: a roaring fire, a cup of hot chocolate, and a good book. Pack some tomes that you?ve been meaning to get to, and enjoy this rare opportunity to read in peace. Plus, if you happen to meet other lovely bookworms, you might make a new friend or two!
Stationary Snowball Attacks
Sometimes the frustration of your situation will be so potent that you need to vent it. This is the perfect opportunity to clear all of the snow off your hotel room balcony, form it into snowballs, and conduct stealth attacks on your friends as they walk by. Be sure to have a good place to duck and hide, in case your targets try to identify the source of the snowy assault; resist the urge to play ?Ride of the Valkyries? in the background.? Throwing snowballs at strangers is not recommended, as you never know who might be bowled over, and who?s in a litigious mood.
Be The Coolest in the Hot Tub
This is the perfect chance to relax in the hotel?s hot tub, sauna, or pool. Your wounded appendage will feel better, and you?ll end up very relaxed too!
Ski and snow resorts are a great way to be close to the best slopes, but are also full of other activities that will make for a fun vacation for anyone who goes there. Companies like Diamond Resorts Int?l offer exclusive deals on lodges and hotels, so you can tackle the best black diamonds and untouched powder all over the world.

The Bigleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla) is the most widely grown with over 600 cultivars mostly of the mophead variety. It is what most people think of when they think of hydrangeas or hortensia. It was originally native to Japan, but is also called the French Hydrangea and Penny Mac. The French created many of the most popular hybrids in the eighteenth century. A number of varieties are suitable for potting, but they also make great border shrubs with their rich green foliage and large flowers, which can be light shades of pink, blue, or purple depending on soil acidity. It performs best in USDA zones 6a through 9b in sun to partial shade with minimal pruning. If you want a bushier specimen, you can remove spent flowers.
Recently, there has been renewed interest in lacecap hydrangeas and some of the American species like the Smooth Hydrangea (Hydrangea arborescens) and the Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia). Lacecaps like the Hydrangea marcophylla normalis are considered by some to be easier to landscape with than mopheads because they are more subtle and graceful. The Smooth Hydrangea is great for colder climates and grow naturally from New York to Florida. The flowers are white and form a corymb or panicle. They lack the large, showy, sterile flowers of the Bigleaf, but the corymb is made up of many blooms that resemble snowballs. Oakleaf Hydrangea get much larger (up to twenty-six feet) and have red, bronze, and purple foliage in autumn that persists through winter. The white blooms also appear in panicles, but they can be up to a foot long. The flowers become a rusty color and also persist through winter, making them a great winter garden specimen. They prefer partial to nearly full shade. Smooth and Oakleaf varieties should be pruned in either late winter or early spring.
Depending on the species, some cannot be propagated by seed ? mopheads have sterile flowers. Almost all hydrangeas are easy to root. Take a six-inch branch cutting from a branch that didn?t flower and remove the lower leaves. Dip the ends in rooting hormone if you like and then insert them into damp vermiculite or coarse sand. Water the pot and allow it to drain then cover the cutting and pot in plastic. Use stakes to prevent the plastic from touching the leaves. Place them in bright light, but not in the sun. Be careful not to overwater and they should begin to root in as little as two weeks. The hardest part is overwintering the cuttings. It is recommended that you start them early in the summer, so they are stronger during the colder months.
Hydrangea comes from the Greek words for ?water? and ?jar,? loosely translating to ?water barrel.? This either refers to the cup-shaped flowers or to the fact that some varieties need plenty of water. Keep this in mind when planting because hydrangeas need rich, moist soil with partial shade. Depending on how large the species is, they should be spaced three to ten feet apart. During any dry periods, make sure to give the plant plenty of water or the leaves will wilt. Mulch, leaves, or pinestraw will help protect younger plants during the colder months.

LONDON (Reuters) - Julian Assange risks being thrown into a cell the moment he leaves the Ecuadorean embassy in London after breaching bail to avoid extradition to Sweden.
The Australian former computer hacker, who enraged Washington in 2010 when his WikiLeaks website published secret U.S. diplomatic cables, is wanted for questioning in Sweden over sex crime allegations. He says he fears he could be bundled to the United States where his life would be at risk.
News crews and a dozen supporters bearing "Free Assange" placards gathered outside the embassy, a five-storey red-brick building in the upmarket district of Knightsbridge where Assange sought refuge on Tuesday.
There was no sighting of Assange, whose distinctive white-blond hair has helped make him instantly recognisable around the world. A reporter from the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, a non-profit organisation based at London's City University, was permitted inside to see Assange and said he was in good spirits.
Ecuador said Assange had expressed fears that if sent to Sweden he would be extradited onwards to the United States where he believes he could face criminal charges punishable by death.
"I genuinely believe, and I know him well, that he fears for his life," said Vaughan Smith, who hosted Assange at his country mansion for 13 months after the Australian was freed on bail in December 2010.
By diplomatic convention, British police cannot enter the embassy without authorisation from Ecuador. But even if Quito granted him asylum, he has no way of travelling to Ecuador without passing through London and exposing himself to arrest.
"He has breached one of his bail conditions which was to be at his bail address between 10pm and 8am every day ... He is subject to arrest under the Bail Act," said a spokesman for London's Metropolitan Police.
CENSORSHIP
Legal experts said it was unclear what would happen to a 240,000-pound ($377,000) deposit provided by Assange's supporters, including a number of celebrities, to secure his bail.
Asked via Twitter by Britain's Guardian newspaper whether she was on the hook, socialite Jemima Khan tweeted back: "Yes. I had expected him to face the allegations. I am as surprised as anyone by this." Khan declined to say how much she had paid.
Assange, whose unpredictable behaviour and love of the limelight have cost him the support of some former friends and colleagues, lost a long-running legal battle last week to avoid extradition from Britain to Sweden.
His 11th-hour decision to seek refuge in the embassy was more reminiscent of Cold War espionage dramas than the British legal process. The dramatic move drew widespread criticism.
"He is asking for protection of freedom of expression for journalists, but he is asking for asylum in a country that is basically censoring newspapers," Frank La Rue, United Nations special investigator for freedom of expression, told Reuters.
Ecuador's leftist President Rafael Correa has clashed with journalists since he took office in 2007, accusing a "media dictatorship" of undermining his rule. Opponents accuse him of seeking to silence dissenting voices.
Assange expressed sympathy with Correa's war on media while interviewing the Ecuadorean leader on Russia Today, an English language TV channel sponsored by the Kremlin that employs Assange.
"Let's get rid of these false stereotypes depicting wicked governments persecuting saint-like and courageous journalists and news outlets. Often, Julian, it's the other way round," Correa told Assange during the interview.
"President Correa, I agree with your market description of the media. We have seen this again and again, that big media organisations that we have worked with ... have censored our material against our agreement," Assange said in response.
"CLUB OF THE PERSECUTED"
WikiLeaks made a huge impact in 2010 by working with prestigious newspapers in several countries that published some of the material it had obtained, but later fell out with them.
Assange has been criticised for agreeing to host his own chat show on Russia Today, given the Russian authorities' own dubious record on freedom of speech.
After disregarding diplomatic protocol by publishing cables that were supposed to be confidential, Assange is now relying on diplomatic convention to shield himself from a legal extradition process. Critics pointed to the irony.
"Getting too enamoured of the idea that Julian Assange is a whistleblower misses the reality that confidentiality on the part of governments is not all bad," U.S. human rights ambassador Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe told reporters in Geneva.
Authorities in Quito, who briefly offered Assange residency at the height of the WikiLeaks furore in November 2010 before backing off, are considering his asylum request.
Assange's decision to appeal to Ecuador follows his Russia Today interview with Correa, posted on YouTube on May 22.
"Cheer up. Welcome to the club of the persecuted," Correa told Assange at the end of the 25-minute interview, during which the pair traded flattering comments and jokes.
Assange praised Correa for getting more done for his country than President Barack Obama was achieving for the United States.
Neither U.S. nor Swedish authorities have charged Assange with anything. Swedish prosecutors want to question him about allegations of rape and sexual assault made by two women, former WikiLeaks volunteers, in 2010. Assange says he had consensual sex with the women.
Having exhausted all possible avenues offered by the British courts, Assange's only option to keep fighting extradition would be an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

Marko Manriquez, a grad student at NYU, has chosen a topic for his Masters thesis that many wish they could have investigated more thoroughly in school: Burritos. Burrito assembly, to be specific. He's adapted an iPhone-controlled 3-D printing platform to dispense ingredients into tortillas, and he calls it Burritobot.
It's not quite ready to deploy worldwide and put thousands of young Taco Bell workers out of their jobs, but the concept is more or less functional and may in fact represent the future of on-location food delivery. Just last week we saw that Italy's Let's Pizza?automatic pizza-making machine was coming to the U.S., so can it really be long before other popular food items get the robot treatment?
Manriquez's machine is based loosely on a type of 3-D printer that fires out a fast-setting material in tiny threads, slowly building up a?desired shape. But if the nozzles were to fire guacamole and sour cream instead of plastic, and the base were a burrito instead of a metal plate, that would more or less describe the Burritobot.
The volume?of various ingredients can be controlled via an iPhone or web app, so you don't have to rely on a chef's intuition as to how much salsa is just right for you. Unfortunately, at the moment the nozzles are so small that very little texture can make it through, making the consistency a little pasty ? and then there's the whole problem of cooking items to order, folding and packaging the burrito, and so on.
But it's not meant to be a final product, just an idea translated to reality. As Manriquez tells FastCo Design:
More to the point is to deliver a conceptual burrito creating a dialogue about food issues. In terms of taste, more development and testing is required. Nothing replaces the human touch (apologies to my robot friends) of simple, unprocessed food, a few spices, and time.
Fans of Mexican food will agree, though automation has produced good results in other areas where hand-crafting used to be the norm. It's largely an engineering problem, which means it's just a matter of time before your burrito, quesadilla, wrap, or panini is handed to you by a robot's pincer or delivered in a chute rather than by the hand of a fellow human.

When you mention the words ?bridal shower? to most men, they?ll likely stop listening and resume watching the ball game. Showers don?t involve them anyway, right? Well, that certainly isn?t the case today. One great way to include the groom and his male friends in the pre-wedding festivities is to throw a couple?s shower. Unlike the traditionally female-only ?bridal? shower of days past, this modern wedding shower includes both the bride and groom, as well as their male and female friends and/or family.
Couples showers typically focus on guy-friendly theme and gifts, such as lawn and BBQ, home bar, sports, home improvement or the honeymoon. Listening now, guys? I thought so. If you?re thinking about hosting a couples shower or if someone offers to throw one for you, here?s what you need to know:
Who hosts it? Members of the wedding party (groomsmen, bridesmaids or both), friends or family members (siblings, cousins, aunts/uncles, etc.) typically host couples showers. They can be hosted by one person, a couple or a group of people.
Location/venue. Depending on the theme of the shower, these events can be held at the hosts? home, a local restaurant or bar, or other fun locale.
Who?s invited? Guests typically include close male and female friends of the engaged couple (not limited to couples, of course?don?t forget any single pals!), family members, work colleagues, etc.
Theme/gift ideas. While there?s no rule that says couples showers have to focus on any specific theme, this is a perfect time to choose a theme that appeals to both men and women. So save the kitchen and bath and home d?cor showers for the girls, and think about more man-friendly themes, such as these:
-?????? Lawn and BBQ: A great shower to host in a backyard and offer guests grilled fare and cold beverages/cocktails. Gift ideas include grilling tools and accessories, landscaping/gardening tools and equipment, lawn games, fire pits, tiki torches, hammocks, and the like.
-?????? Stock the Bar: A shower that can be hosted in someone?s home, man cave or at the local watering hole with cocktails and appetizers. Gift ideas include drink ware/bar ware, bar utensils and accessories, bar signs/artwork, bottles of liquor, etc.
?
-?????? Sports: For sports-loving couples, this shower can be hosted at a home or venue near/overlooking the engaged couple?s favorite team?s field, stadium, etc. (such as a sports bar, clubhouse or stadium club). Gift ideas include sports-themed items such as these. Popular ideas are tailgating gear, custom team signs/artwork, team logoed drink ware/bar ware/serve ware, apparel or game tickets.
?
-?????? Home Improvement: A shower that can be hosted at someone?s home or other fun location. Gift ideas include ladders, power tools and hand tools, tool storage, painting equipment, or hardware store gift cards to help fund larger improvement projects.
?
-?????? Honeymoon: A great shower to host at someone?s home or a restaurant with cuisine that matches the honeymoon destination. Depending on the destination, gift ideas could include excursions and activities, snorkeling or skiing gear, hiking equipment, beach towels, travel gear, luggage or travel guides.

Depression, anxiety and problems sleeping are linked with an increased risk of dying from stroke, a new study suggests.
Researchers from University College London found that people who had these conditions of psychological distress were more likely to die from a stroke or ischemic heart disease.
The study, published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, included 68,652 people who had an average age of 54.9. Nearly all the study participants were white, and slightly fewer than half were male. None of them had any sort of cardiovascular disease at the beginning of the study.
Researchers measured the psychological distress of the study participants with the General Health Questionnaire; they found that 14.7 percent of them had some sort of psychological distress.
After an 8.1-year period, 2,367 people died of cardiovascular disease -- 1,010 died particularly from ischemic heart disease, 562 died from stroke, and 795 died from another heart-related reason.
Last year, a similar study in the journal Stroke: Journal of the American Heart Association showed a link between depression and stroke. That study, which included more than 80,000 women, showed that having had depression is linked with a 29 percent higher risk of having a stroke, BBC News reported.
"Regardless of the mechanism, recognizing that depressed individuals may be at a higher risk of stroke may help the physician focus on not only treating the depression, but treating stroke risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes and elevated cholesterol, as well as addressing lifestyle behaviors such as smoking and exercise," study researcher Dr. An Pan, of the Harvard School of Public Health, told BBC News.
And just this month, a study presented at the SLEEP 2012 conference showed that middle- to older-aged people who regularly get fewer than six hours of sleep a night have an increased stroke risk, even if they don't have a history of stroke, aren't overweight and don't have an increased risk for obstructive sleep apnea.

The Windows RT version of Surface has USB 2.0
6/19/2012 2:46:00 PM
By: Melissa J. Perenson
Microsoft's introduction of its Surface tablet engendered buzz like no other we've seen from Microsoft. The big question is, does it stand up to the hype? The answer, succinctly, is yes.
After the event, attendees got a brief audience with the Surface (the second Microsoft product to get that name; prior to today, "Surface" referred to Microsoft's table-top touchscreen computer experience). I saw it up-close, and in limited action, and was very impressed with what I saw.
For starters, Microsoft truly has paid close attention to the details. This tablet is one of the few with a full-sized USB port--and thank goodness for that. The Windows RT version of Surface has USB 2.0, with USB 3.0 on the Windows 8 Professional version. (The Pro version can use USB 3.0 because the core logic chipset of Intel's Ivy Bridge chips support the standard, according to a Microsoft spokesman.)
The Surface tablet's integrated kickstand is sheer brilliance, and it felt sturdily designed when I lifted it up and held the prototype tablet by its kickstand. I did that almost automatically, without thinking about potential consequences, and then realized that I had nothing to fear; the kickstand felt as stable as bedrock.
The tablet's case felt silky and exceptionally solid, even on these still-early prototypes. (The Windows RT Surface we saw here won't be out until fall, at Windows 8's launch; the Pro version will ship three months later, meaning we'll hear about those at CES 2013.) The exterior magnesium alloy surface is smooth to the touch, and finely finished. And while I wish the tablet were slightly slimmer, the angled edges made it fairly comfortable to hold. The tablet felt extremely well-balanced when I held the tablet in one hand or both. It actually didn't feel as heavy as its listed weight (1.5 pounds for the RT version, 1.9 pounds for the Pro version).
From a Distance
The demo units on show here in Los Angeles were running Windows RT, and had a 1080p quality display. (Microsoft's spec sheet doesn't list an exact resolution.) When I had my all-too-brief moment to handle the tablet, that unit wasn't turned on. Microsoft didn't let us too close to the ones that were on and showing demos on-screen, so I didn't see book-size text up close. That makes it impossible to say how it compares side-by-side with the third-generation Apple iPad's Retina display, or the 1920-by-1200 pixel display on the upcoming Acer Iconia Tab A700. What I saw from a distance impressed me, though, and left me eager to see more.
The benefits of the display's optical bonding were obvious. Bonding is still an expensive process, which is why we don't see it as often as I would like on tablets. Its inclusion on the Surface, frankly, makes me worry that these tablets may cost significantly more than other mainstream models. But there's no questioning the value of optical bonding ? it makes text more clear, minimizes glare and improves contrast. And the Surface running Windows RT showcased those benefits well, even under the glarey spotlights at the event.
Cover Up
The Type Cover and Touch Cover are evolved beyond the keyboard docks on tablets like Asus' Transformer series. There, the dock is a physical component that turns the tablet into a netbook-like clamshell. The keyboard in Microsoft's innovative "smart" covers is the tablet keyboard you've always dreamed of: versatile, lightweight, functional, and a true aid to your productivity.
The Type Cover has mechanical keys and a multitouch clickpad. My touch-typist fingers flew over the keys as efficiently as if I were typing on my laptop. The Touch Cover comes in bright and cheerful colors as well as the more staid black, and has flat, pressure-sensitive keys that can detect when you're typing; if you flip the cover around to the back, the built-in accelerometer can sense this and will turn off the keyboard (nifty trick). I couldn't try a Touch Cover hooked up to a unit, but I'll be interested to see how it performs when it comes out. Both options turned the Surface tablet into an efficient and compact device.
We didn't hear anything about whether the keyboard covers draw more power from the tablet, but presumably they do. The Touch Cover is thin, just 3mm, and snaps into place with a sturdy clink thanks to magnetics and components aligning together to keep it in place. (The cover feels more secure than Apple's Smart Cover, which can easily slip-slide out-of-place.)
My hands-on time with the Microsoft Surface was limited, but it made a very good first impression. Microsoft has put other tablet makers on notice. It will be interesting to see how the competition responds.
