NOPD seeking 2 accused of aiding murder suspects in Algiers fatal ...

The NOPD is seeking a man and a woman who?allegedly aided in the Nov. 25 carjacking and murder of a 27-year-old college student in Algiers. Although two men have been booked in the killing and are being held without bond, police say a third murder suspect remains at large.

Homicide detective Timothy Bender secured arrest warrants?Saturday for Desmonique Reed, 18, and Erin Joseph Doucet, 17. Police say Doucet?was a principal to the carjacking and murder, while Reed?was an accessory after the fact for the crimes.

Police say Milton Wilson, 17, Jaroid Washington, 17, and Marke Simmons, 20, carjacked and fatally shot 27-year-old Fernando Eyzaguirre. Police found the victim's body, shot multiple times, lying in a strip-mall parking lot in the 5100 block of Gen. de Gaulle Drive.

Wilson remains at large, but Washington and Simmons were booked Friday on charges of first-degree murder and carjacking.

According to court records, Eyzaguirre was sitting in his car around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 25. The surveillance camera of a nearby store captured three men armed with handguns approaching his car and forcing him out. They shot him multiple times, then fled in his 2007 Honda Accord.

Eyzaguirre, described by his parents as a conscientious young man pursuing a technology degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. His body was found at about?6:30 a.m.

The three gunmen eluded capture for nearly a month.

Eyzaguirre's car was found abandoned on a street in Waveland, Miss., about a 10-minute drive from Washington's home.

Washington was arrested Tuesday and extradited to New Orleans on Wednesday. Simmons was in jail on a drug charge in Jefferson Parish and was transferred to Orleans Parish Prison on Thursday.

Magistrate Judge Gerard Hansen ordered both Washington and Simmons held without bond on the first-degree murder charge. For the carjacking, he set Washington a $500,000 bond and Simmons a $300,000 bond.

Homicide Detective Timothy Bender is in charge of the investigation. Police ask anyone with information?about this crime or about the whereabouts of Wilson, Doucet or Reed to contact Crimestoppers at 504.822.1111.
