Graham & Co.
Graham & Co. LLC, in its first construction project since the recession, has begun building a $4 million factory in Moody for Philadelphia-based supplier SKF USA Inc.
SKF has signed a long-term lease for the 31,200-square-foot building Graham & Co. is building in its Moody Commerce Park in St. Clair County.
The plant, SKF's fifth in the U.S., will employ 25 at its soft opening in mid-December, said Graham & Co.'s Sonny Culp, who represented his firm in the lease.
The Moody City Council voted in April to give Graham & Co. up to $200,000 in tax abatements related to the construction of the building, as AL.com reported then.
SKF, a subsidiary of Sweden-based SKF Group, supplies manufacturers like Birmingham's Motion Industries with rolling ball bearings and seals, among other products.
Locally, Taylor Glaze of NAI Chase Commercial helped represent SKF.
Graham & Co. hired Designform LLC as its architect and Cooper Construction Co. as its general contractor. National Bank of Commerce provided the financing for the construction, which you can see by clicking here.
Graham is seeking LEED certification for the project.
Moody Commerce Park still has one lot left ? a building pad for a facility with up to 90,000 square feet and interstate visibility, he said. The park already has two other fully-occupied buildings, one 182,000 square feet and the other 202,000 square feet.
